Alameda Adaptive Arts gives young adults with special needs an opportunity to express themselves through song and dance, and in the process entertain and inspire the community with their positive message about finding one’s voice.

So many life skills are learned and honed through performing:  Getting dressed and stage ready, arriving at the venue on time, listening to and cooperating with fellow performers, carrying oneself appropriately in the public eye.  When all these skills and creativity culminate in performance, the self-esteem achieved and confidence gained are invaluable.  Putting on a show provides an opportunity for our performers, families and the greater community to interact and come together around a shared interest.

Since its beginnings in 2015, Alameda Adaptive Arts has been happy to collaborate with various community groups on the island of Alameda in the San Francisco Bay Area, including churches, other performing arts groups and civic organizations.
